I can play 800 x 600 with the enhanced ambient at full force and it's not as bad as your experience. Thiefs Den didn't have our enhanced ambient lighting fix, so that's going to add some performance drain.though I can't imagine it being that bad.

High screen res might cause that, but I can't see it with the system you have. What's your screen resolution? Have you tried switching between the 'fast' and 'standard' ambient to see if there is any difference there? That's a good system you have there and it should be nice and smooth.in theory.

Is there anything I might have overlooked during the install process?Wow, I'm not sure Beleg. It gets better if I look to the ground or enter a building (at least the first, that's how far I've come), so just like I simply had a weak system, but some 4000 AMD thing and a GeForce 7900GS Ultima should handle it, as TDS, Thief's Den and e.g. I just tested it three times (the last time after it gave me a blue screen) and I get a horrible slide show on the street every time I play it that is, not five frames per second but five seconds per frame. Renaming the interaction.vfp file simply allows the engine to use the default doom 3 version which doesn't have the extra instructions running on it to fix the error with the default doom 3 ambient lighting. We should be able to make a menu command for this in the future, but for now you have to do it manually. I can't claim miraculous improvements for everyone, but for me.I went from stuttery and almost unplayable.to silky smooth. With this particular setting, I had better performance in TDM than I did in TDS, and that is on a cheap Geforce FX 5200. In other words.the playing field is levelled. Ambient and standard lights will be handled pretty close to how TDS handled them. With this setting, the extra instructions are removed. Go into the folder and rename interaction.vfp to interaction_test.vfp. Go into the saintlucia folder and look for the folder called glprogs. Having set your video setting to the fast ambient, close the game.

Although the mod itself is still not ready for release, I think you will be impressed with how beautiful and immersive this map is. This map demonstrates the progress that has been made on The Dark Mod over the past eight months or so since our last demo.
